The Start of Remodeling!!

As most of yall know, with our house we just moved into it is a little out dated. So Dustin and I, along with the help from our parents. We started last weekend remodeling. The fun has started!! Or should I say the craziness and mess has started. Dustin and I are very excited and can't wait to see ending results. I even have before and after pictures of our projects as we go. I hope with this blog I can keep yall up to date about our remodeling. Last weekend, we decided to a little update to the back yard. Dustin and his dad custome built a fire box, along with a custome built gate!! It looks great. It's all welded and painted black.

I even decided to do a little project myself. We were very blessed by getting some out door furniture from Dustin's parents. They needed some new paint on them and then new cusions. I found everything at good old home depo. I hope to finish up my project this weekend making slip covers for the footrest. I forgot to take a before picture. Just picture them being forest green.

Deer Season!!

Dustin and I enjoy deer season very much. We look forward to it every year. Opening season starts the first Saturday of November every year. Which means Dustin is gone every weekend hunting. This year he took the time to look for a buck I can even shoot. Most of the time he wants me to get mine first so then he can work on getting his. This year that didn't so much happen. We went down to the ranch several time hoping to come home with a deer and some meat. Little did we know it was going to be closing weekend before I got my buck. It was the morning of Jan. 16th, so cold and wet. Just not fun at all. Until this deer walked out and I shot him.
He is a beauty!!
At about 130 yards away I got this 8 pointer!! He scored to be 123! Not bad for my first buck. Dustin was so excited and proud. That he took the deer in that morning to get a head mount made!! So soon it will be on my wall.
As for Dustin, he didn't get a buck this year. But I think he got the best of it all!! With being able to get me one!! All in all it was a great hunting season!

The House Got Blessed

Father Rich Blessing the House
Over the Christmas Holiday my God Father came to visit! I think he just wanted to check up on the newlywed! LOL He wanted to make sure his first couple that he married are still doing great!

I cooked a homemade full out mexican dinner. Everything you could think of. I was so nervous, I wanted it to come out just like my mom's. Which most of yall know that is a very high standard I would have to go up against. Well I did it and man was it so good! The only bad note was Dustin now knows I can cook mexican food and all the fixings. LOL Well it's my God Father's favorite meal and I thought since he was blessing the house the least I could do was make sure he left with a full stomach of home cooked mexican food.

I just want to say thank you and it was wonderful to see you for those few days you where in town. Dustin and I hope all is well.

Love,
Dustin and Natalie

Christmas Time!!

Merry Christmas to all!!

Christmas in our first home!! It couldn't get more exciting than that!!

Christmas Eve we decided to go spend the evening with Dustin's mom's parents. Ama isn't doing to well and thought we could spend this Christmas Eve with them. We went to a small cowboy church, saw the children do the play of baby Jesus! Then went back to the grandparents house for dinner and gifts. We enjoyed each others company and wonderful food. Can't beat homemade cookin! We all got some really useful gifts and things we needed. But most of all we spent Christmas Eve with family!! (I will post pictures when I get them)

Santa even came and visted Annie!! Dustin and Annie Xmas morning!
As for Christmas Eve we got home late and I woke up early that morning to make sure things where ready for the day. While I let Dustin sleep in some, I managed to put the homemade cinnamon rolls in the oven, Coffee brewing, table set, stockings stuffed, and just waiting for my parents to come. I was so excited to have my parents over for Christmas morning, no words could describe it! They came over at 9 that morning. Dustin than got cookin in the kitchen by making waffles and bacon. Man was everything so good. My parents gave us a wii and we love it!! We also got lots of other great gifts from them and other family members. We are two very blessed people. The day went on with my parents making the rounds at other people's house. We then took off to head to Dustin's memo's house!

The Marroquin family was all there(well the local ones), we sure did miss the ones out of state! We had an amazing line up of food to pick from. It was like Thanksgiving all over again! The exchange of gifts was done and man we all ended up with some really great things!! Although, spending time with family is the greatest gift of all. We then even played our famous white elephant game...it sure can get crazy sometimes to even a little naughty. LOL

Dustin and I then headed to Dustin's parents house for gift exchange with them. Again we got some great gifts. From tools to cook books. Things we need for our house! As we ended the night there to be able to wake up by 3 in the morning! Yes, I said 3!! To head down to the ranch, with hoping we would get two big bucks.

So all in all I would have to say our first Christmas as Husband and Wife couldn't have been more perfect!! We enjoyed everyones company and the memories we created! Thank you again to everyone who gave us the amazing gifts we got!

Love yall,
Dustin and Natalie

P.S.-I would have to say one of my favorit gifts was the gift my brother gave me...it was more than just a phone number to call him at. He now as a cool up to date phone! That he can text, email, share pictures and even facetime!! So I got to see him Christmas day!! I love you bubba!!
